1 person killed and 16 injured in explosion in Jowhar town, Lahore

Lahore: According to Rescue officials quoted by Geographic News on Wednesday, an explosion occurred in a house in the town of Jowhar in Lahore, killing one person and injuring at least 16 others.
According to the report, rescue, police and bomb disposal teams have arrived at the scene of the incident, and the wounded have been transferred to Jinnah Hospital in the city.
Witnesses said that the glass windows of nearby houses and buildings had been shattered. One of the buildings was severely damaged, and some vehicles parked at the explosion site were also affected.
Hospital officials said that 16 people were injured and transferred to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore via private cars and auto rickshaws.
The management of Jinnah Hospital has asked people to come forward and donate blood for the wounded, adding that it is providing treatment for the wounded.
According to hospital officials, the injured included a policeman, a woman and two children. Because of the burns, all the injured are in critical condition.
The explosion is loud and can be heard from far away. However, the nature of the explosion has not yet been determined. An eyewitness told Geographic News that an unidentified person parked a motorcycle near the house and then exploded.
The police have cordoned off the area for further investigation and traffic has been diverted.
CM Buzdar seeks detailed information from IG police
After the incident, the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar asked the Inspector General of Police to submit a detailed report of the explosion to him.
The Punjab government announced on Twitter that CM has ordered an immediate investigation into the incident.
Jinnah Hospital has declared a state of emergency to treat the wounded, and has requested rescue 1122 and other rescue organizations to speed up rescue activities.
